Prayer for Saturday
Creator of all that is seen and unseen,
You stretched out the universe before us and called us
to journey beyond the horizon of this moment.
Give us grace
to remember what lies behind us: the men and women of
good will whom we have been blessed to know, the precious
faces of friends and family who taught us faith and fidelity,
and those times when laughter lightened the load.
Refresh
us often through the gift of memory that we may be
steadied, assured and strengthened by the past.
Then call
us from where we were to where You need us. Give us
confidence to walk whatever path lies before us, knowing
that as You touched us in the past, so You are in the future
already reaching out to receive us in a love that will
not let us go. Amen.
