Written by Reid Campbell, a theatre professional and member of the congregation. This is a 75 minute musical about climate change, environmental angst and finding our place in a changing world. It's funny, it's poignant and we hope it will be life changing. The Trinity church council has invited the production to perform in the hall for the entire month of August (and Labour Day weekend). The Last World Tour runs August 5 - September 5, Thursday to Sunday at 7:30 pm, (matinees at 5:00 pm on August 21, 28 and Sept. 4). We will be back October 1, 2, 3 as part of the Scarecrow Festival. Trinity Hall is on Edgewater Street, Mahone Bay (the smallest of the famous Three Churches). See the town on Google Street View: click here and "turn around" (with your mouse) 180 degrees to see the churches. |

From the Editor: "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) The Maritime Conference Newsletter is one means of sharing our stories of faith through the experience of our conference executive, committees, and congregations. The first issue of the newsletter was sent on April 29, 2010 by e-mail to active, retired and retained ministry personnel, delegates to the annual meeting of Maritime Conference, presbytery secretaries, and members of the conference executive. A printable version will be mailed to those who do not have a current e-mail address, and it will be posted on the Maritime Conference web site. You can find the current issue here: http://www.marconf.ca/enews/enews-vol2-num1.htm The newsletter is the responsibility of the Computer Use and Education Unit, which is accountable to the Christian Life and Growth Committee. An evaluation will take place after three issues to consider various aspects including content, contributors, recipients, and the number of editions annually. On behalf of the Computer Use and Education Unit, I would like to thank everyone involved in producing this issue, including Rev. Janice MacLean, editors Dr. Margot Roach and Rev. Wayne Smith, web minder Rev. Garth Caseley, each writer, and most of all, our readers. Norma Mills DLM |

For the past several years, Trinity United in New Glasgow has held “contemporary” worship services as a regular part of its worshiping experience. As we go forward, we are continually seeking new ways of enhancing our spiritual connection with the divine. If you are currently worshiping within a contemporary style, we would be interested in hearing of your experience and receiving particulars regarding how your services are created, the type of music used, worship teams, and other participants. If you are willing to share your worshipping experiences with us, we would be honoured to hear from you. Please contact either Emma Lee Stewart, coordinator of contemporary services for Trinity United Church at emmalee@eastlink.ca or by phone at 902-752-1650 or the Rev. Dr. Jim Shaffner, Trinity United’s resource staff at tucw_jim_s@eastlink.ca or by phone at 902-752-4475. |
